About Arugam Bay and Pottuvil area

Arugam Bay is a very beautiful tourist area in Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. Most local people are fishermen and most foreigners are coming to this village to enjoy their vacation.

The tourist season spreads from march to october as the have very big and reputed waves during this period. People from all over the world come to Arugam Bay area to enjoy surfing and "Main Point" is the theater of the main srilankan surfing competion, the Arugam Bay Surf Classic which usually takes place in july or august in front of Upali Beach Surf Cafe.

The Pottuvil Arugam Bay area community is composed with Muslim, Sinhalese, Tamil, Burger and Thelugu (Gipsy) people, living all together and welcoming foreigners who come for the waves but also many families traveling around Sri Lanka.

We are conducting our ministry among this various cultural people very cumbrously.
